Name: S. C. Gwynne - Distinguished Lecture Series
Date: April 13, 2017
Time: 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM CDT
Event Description:
The Center for the Study of the American West at West Texas A&M University is proud to host S. C. Gwynne in April as part of CSAW’s Garry L. Nall Lecture Series. As a contributing editor to Texas Monthly, Gwynne has written articles on topics as diverse as Texas A&M football, the King Ranch, Karl Rove, and Bikini Atoll. He has also authored several books, including his 2010 Empire of the Summer Moon, which was on the New York Times Bestseller List for several months. This book recounts the Comanches’ rise and fall and the lives of Cynthia Ann Parker and Quanah Parker, and it differs from Gwynne’s other books in that it is his first “pure history” book. His most recent book, The Perfect Pass, tells the story of two coaches who revolutionized American football. Reception and book signing will follow the lecture.
